Aidilfitri 2012 - The Sewing

Salam Aidilfitri, Eid Mubarak...

This entry is way too late but my motto nowadays is better late then never, in all aspects of my very hectic life lol...really it's hard for me to find the time or energy to blog these days...so I guess this post will be pic heavy!

So how was Eid? I hope you had a wonderful time enjoying the holidays with your loved ones...

This year we were in red the 1st day of Eid. In Malaysia, it is becoming a culture to have a theme for the 1st day of Eid. I guess it just adds to the fun & enjoyment of Eid & gets the conversation going when visiting relatives :) It was so hard to get a good pic of all four of us here's the only decent one I could find lol...

We spend 5 days in Kota Bharu, travelling back & forth from my in laws in Sabak place to my parents' house in KB. Some pics we snapped at my parents' on the 2nd day of Eid. This year majority of our photos are blurry due to very novice photogs handling my new manual setting lense. I try to salvage whatever I can lol...

The 6 of us....it used to be 7 and the absence of my late baby sister was strongly felt...

My handsome dad with his youngest grandchild - my nephew Faris!

Me & my lil angel Hanan...

And as for the sewing, I sewed 2 sets of outfits for my girls this year. The first are these tunics.

They are loose fitting and the girls love them with jeans. They were worn on 2nd day of Eid. Here are the tunics in action.

Sisters!

We are happy cousins!

Shadow play...
Tunic back.
And for the 3rd day of Eid, the girls wore this Sisters Sisters set I made them. These were last minute project, I managed to finish 'em right before we pack for our balik kampung trip :)

My Spanish Rose...

That's all from me, thank you for reading my friends, enjoy the rest of Syawal, Eid Mubarak to all! :)

Raya Sewing Portfolio 2011 & Eid Mubarak!

I hope it is not too late to post a wish here on this blog.

My raya sewing this year was eventful & I have to say, an eye opener. Despite all the challenges, Alhamdulillah I managed to finish sewing 58 dresses altogether since the beginning of Ramadhan. Here's a wall of some of my sewing this year, I might have left out a few...

So today is Eid....it is now 5am and I am still in Putrajaya...

In a few hours the whole family will wake up and after Eid prayer we would go to visit my late sister's grave before going back to my hometown in Kota Bharu. This year's raya has a somber mood to it as we mourn the first Aidilfitri without my youngest sister....

Before I go, I would like to thank all my customers for the opportunity to sew for your lil ones this year. May you have a wonderful celebration with your loved ones this year from yours truly...

Love,
Zura

Raya Sewing 2010 Portfolio - Finale & Selamat Hari Raya!

The last of Raya orders have been sent out. I am combining a few orders in one post as Eid is just around the corner and I am going on my balik kampung trip in a few minutes.

These dresses are ordered by my former staff, CC Liza for her darling 2 and 3 yo daughters. They are the same dress I sewed for Hanan's birthday.

Aren't they regal?

I just LOVE them so much! Perfect for the special occasion oh I can just imagine the little princesses parading around in their beautiful Raya dresses!

The following two are for Feena and Sherina. Both lovely in their own ways....

This year's Raya sewing is a celebration on its own for me as I managed to finish everything on time and learned so much from the experience. Thank you all for your orders and would love to work with all of you again.

Lastly, I would like to wish all Sew Retro Chic readers and Lovemelots Creations customers Eid Mubarak, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin if in any unknown to me ways I have made any mistakes or hurt anyones feelings. It's the time for forgiveness, love and joy, here's wishing you a wonderful holidays with your family.

Next post will be a blog post from my hometown, in Kota Bharu, till then,

*hugs*

LOVE,
Zura

Raya Sewing 2010 Portfolio - Part 3

The cutest of all my Raya sewing this year gotta be for Yus's order. I mean how can it not be cute when the recipient is a pretty little princess? It's obvious how the parents are so in love with their new baby girl. Congratulations Yus!

My favorite is this one. I especially love the fabric. Isn't it the cutest? All those happy girls tossing around? Girls always have more fun! The sleeves and bottom band are made from border fabric from the same collection.

And more cuteness for the little princess! All fabric combos were picked by Yus herself from my flickr fabric stash. I must say she has great eyes for colors. Thank you Yus for your order and here hoping you'll love them as much as I do when the parcel arrives today :)

Raya Sewing 2010 Portfolio - Part 1

It's only a few days left before the Eid celebration, and I'm down to the last two of this year's order. I am recording them for future reference. I had so much fun sewing but the pressure of a dateline kept me on my toes!  Add to the fact that this year's Ramadhan coincides with my Mid-Term Exam. I guess the holy month really is a blessing. I somehow found the  strength to keep calm and complete everything. Let's just say I did what I can and pray for the best :D

These are all Kak Farhana's order. A variety of designs for the very lucky 2, 6, and 9 yo. Love them, I wish I could see the girls wearing them :)

Part 2 coming soon, till then, have a wonderful Sunday!
